Being a little worse for wear, having travelled from Austarlia to London thence to Dubrovnik it was fantastic to stand on the aircraft steps to be met by the sun its warmth and fine weather.
Despite the preconceived ideas that customs and immigration would be a difficult task - the opposite was the case and formalities were a breeze.
We were met by our driver and taken to the outer walls of old Dubrovnik a world heritage site brimming with artwork and architectural wornders. At this point we walked through the city gates accross the cobble stoned paving to the Pucic Palace, hotel. Once one of the finest noble homes of its time and now an old world hotel located on the Gundulic Square, the city markets. This is an ideal location to get into the feeling of the old world that is maintained within the city walls.
